Why Blog?

If you read my “Meet the Author” post, you know that I did not come from a farming background and had a lot to learn while dating a farmer. Unlike most other careers, farming is a lifestyle, a lifestyle that can control every aspect of your life and relationship, and a lifestyle that takes some time getting used to. This lifestyle is something I had trouble adjusting to, especially as our relationship became more serious. I knew this would no longer be just his life, it would be my life as well. There was nobody that I was able to relate to, everyone on his side was accustomed to the farm, and nobody on my side had any farming experience whatsoever. Many times I took to the internet and Pinterest (because Pinterest has an answer to everything, right?) to read stories and posts for advice but I could never find something that would fit the situation just right.

So, now I am here, hopeful to share some stories, show someone in the same position I was in how you can fall in love with the farm as you fall in love with your farmer, and make you laugh a little along the way. (Disclaimer: your love for the farm will happen fast)

I hope everyone, whether you are the significant other of a farmer, the in-laws of a farmer, or just a neighbor of the farm, you will better understand the timely demands of their lifestyle. The hopefully, you will understand how the 2% of the population feeding the other 98% live their lives, not by Monday-Friday, but by season and weather.
